A Good Week

Image
Hey!        It hasn't been that long since we last talked! All is well here in Hobbs America. My new companion elder Hepworth is really cool and he lives up to the reputation of being a hard worker. It's been nice to push each other and get lots of work done. We had an incredible day on Saturday where we talked to 31 people and had door step lessons and gave out lots of book of Mormons. It was an exhausting day, but I loved it so much. We have some good appointments set up for this coming week that I'm excited for and some will be with really prepared people, so I'm hoping we can progress with them. Other than that it's been amazing so far and I'm really enjoying it, and hobbs is just getting better and better.        The mission has been a huge Rollercoaster these past 18 months. It's amazing how big the highs are and how hard the lows are, but they are good teaching moments that I'm grateful for. I've gotten out of that wired rut of feeling like...

Hobby Lobby

What's up!?       Hey guys! I've been super busy and not a whole lot has happened because my companion was still sick. We got our transfer news on Tuesday and im staying in Hobbs, and elder Nichols is leaving to Borger. He's pretty sad to go, but my new companion elder Hepworth seems to be really cool and a super super hard worker so I'm super excited to get busy and get this area set up and doing good. We met 2 really cool people yesterday that I think will be our prospects for baptism and I think we can baptise at least one of them next transfer. We also met this lady named Leslie who I think is also going to be baptised as well so there's lots of potential in this area for sure. Anyways thats about it just wanted to keep you guys in the loop on things!

TLM (Trenchcoat Loving Mission)

Image
Howdy doodly!      Picture this: We're all having a good time and enjoying life as it goes. Things are going so smooth that it begins to be a little suspicious, and thats when it hit me, that darn trenchcoat. See, last pday my companion and I went thrift shopping with the other missionaries. Unbenounced to me, I would see it. I would come to regret it. The women's trench coat. He buys a women's trench coat and has worn it everyday since. If I didn't know any better I would think he showers, and sleeps in it. I was also given special permission via request, to write about this in today's episode. We were supposed to have a great week with more than 10 lessons, but they all punched through and canceled. Every. Single. One. The same week my companion decides to wear this trenchcoat. Coincidence? I think not. Illuminati confirmed. There must be a spirit attached to it, or maybe a curse, legend has it. Either way it's bad luck. (Its probably not related at all but I ...

Punching My Bishop In The Face

Image
Woah! Slow your horses! Pump your brakes! Hear me out before you jump to conclusions!       Okay you know me, I'm goofy and silly and whatever, but I would never punch my bishop or hopefully anybody in the face. The reason I titled my email this is because we have now met 2 people who have been excommunicated from the church for punching their bishops in the face, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Apparently in the relatively small town of Hobbs, New Mexico, that's just what people seem to enjoy doing to pass time. I can't stress enough how seemingly lawless this place feels. Unfortunately this week our entire district got hit with some kind of sickness. My companion and I have been out the past two days, and of course on the only days we had meals this week. I lose my mind just sitting around and doing nothing, so I became the world's best telemarketer, and called people the entire day. We were able to get some lessons setup for next wee...
