What The Snow???
Talofa yall!
Man It wouldn't be Texas without some bipolar weather. The other day it was super hot and sunny and nice outside, then we woke up the next morning to snow and chilling 30° weather. Now the snow didn't stick but still. I don't ever remember Texas being this cold for the 11 years that I lived here, but whatever. All the elders here have been dropping like flies coming down with some kinda sickness but it's nice for us cuz we've been stealing the cars that they don't get to use the days they are sick, so that's been nice to have a warm place to be in. This week was overall a good week.
I wanted to give an update on my health situation. It's been getting slightly worse with more symptoms, but my doctor appointment fell through last week so the entire week I had to push through the pain and carry on like everything was normal. It's been hard but forgetting myself and staying busy helps me keep my mind off it here and there. I do however have a doctors appointment today at 12:30 so we will see how that goes. But overall been pushing through and trying to stay positive and happy and not let it get in the way of the work.
Anyways back to the good stuff. We met with Joseph and his amazing family this week. Unfortunately he told us he wants to wait for baptism, and doesn't want to be baptized by the date we gave him. They are still progressing and it's great! We taught some other lessons this week too, mostly inactive members but those are important and fun too! This week we have been blessed in terms of food. A member took us to a hibachi place so that was awesome! We also ate out for dinner with members almost everyday and I gained like 3lbs this week so we love that. I also got to pet like at least 4 dogs this week so that made my pain better.
Sadly however, elder Ili is Leaving on Sunday and will no longer be with us at the TLM. That man is a legend and genuinely became one of my best friends. He's helped me become such a good missionary because if I'm at least half the missionary he is, I'll be alright. I'm gonna miss him but India is gaining a good guy. This week we also hear about transfer news. This transfer was only 5 weeks long so it was a little shorter and there's going to be a lot of changes in this zone, or at least that's what we're expecting. All the leadership people have been here for a while, leadership being district leaders and zone leaders. And they are all going to be transfered so they will need to call some new ones. I have a bad feeling that I might be the district leader and train a Greenie (fresh from the mtc). I would absolutely love to train someone, I want to train as many times as I can. But I don't care for the district leader title or any of them for that matter, although I would except it. But that's just a probability, I'll most likely end up with just a new comp and thats it.
Anyways yall this has been my week. It was pretty good and it went by so fast. I passed my 3 month mark and it's been the fastest 3 months of my life. Sometimes I forget how fast life is moving, it's crazy to think I was wearing diapers 18 years ago and now im in lubbock TX. But im grateful to be here and to be serving God and be amongst some incredible people. I love yall and reading your emails even though I don't always respond, I appreciate it. Thanks for all that you do for me!! Alofa atu!!
