What A Crazy Interesting Week It's Been...

Yo howdy yall!

This week was unusual to say the least. I got my new comp elder Dunn. He's a pretty cool guy and we're getting along well so thats always a good thing. He's been out for about 6 months now. Poor kid had a weird first week and I'm not just talking about because he had to be with me lol.

Our first night we went to bed early at around 9:30 because we were up at 5am that morning for transfers so we were so tired, and I was homeless the last 2 nights before that. I usually lock my front door and shut all the doors in the apartment and turn off every light before bed. Well that night because we were exhausted I forgot to lock our door for the first time ever. An hour after falling asleep I wake up at like 10:30 and I have this overwhelming feeling that someone was watching me. I rolled out of bed and noticed our bedroom door was cracked open. Then me and elder Dunn heard footsteps on the stairs. I ran out and saw all the doors and cabinets were open and some lights were on. I ran downstairs and our front door was wide open. Super creepy. Lucky nothing was stolen and we were safe. I shut and locked the door and went straight back to bed. But elder Dunn insisted he never got out of bed so someone probably broke in to watch me sleep cuz apparently I'm just worth breaking into an apartment to watch lol. (I sleep right by the door)

The next day we were biking around and got a call that we needed to come and give a blessing ASAP. We peddled over to the church as fast as we could and met up with some other missionaries who were teaching this lady. They said that this person was possessed and we needed to cast out the demon and bless her so we did. After that she said that her house had demoms as well. With special permission we followed her home which looking back probably wasn't the smartest idea. She was driving super sketchy and all over the place and almost got into a couple of wrecks. The elders we were car pooling with were trying to catch up but the tiwi in the car only allows us to go so fast. She took us all the way out in the middle of nowhere. Even the moon and stars were scared to shine here. It was like a good 45 min drive. We pulled up to her trailer and got this super weird vibe, like the spirit just left right there. We said some prayers and eventually blessed her home and we felt better. Then she said she's been reading the book of Mormon which is awesome. She pulled it out and slammed it on the table and crushed her Crack pipe which is not awesome. But that was our first full day together after a night of getting broken into.

The rest of the week was pretty slow. We did a lot of biking. Just tons and tons and tons of biking. We only taught a handful of lessons which is pretty good. But this week was mostly contacting people and setting up lessons and appointments and biking around trying to find people. I'm finding that I'm getting better at biking and it's becoming more tolerable so that helps a lot. A less active member named Anna that we've been sending scriptures to everyday and working with every week, surprised us and came to church for the first time in a long time!! She bore her testimony in church and shared a scripture that changed her life. It was helaman 5:12, a scripture that me and elder ili sent her a couple weeks or months ago. She wrote down her thoughts and basically gave a talk at the podium. It was beautiful and it made me so happy because we've been trying so hard to get anna comfortable with coming back to church and she did! It helped me want to continue trying with other people that we teach that may not be progressing as much. We may not see their progression at times or the impact we have on them, but after that it helped me understand that we are helping them. She's been a cool friend to meet with and build that relationship there! And I'm so glad that she was able to come to church and bare her amazing testimony.

So that leaves me with baring my testimony. And I will also do it on Helaman 5:12 because on my mission it became one of my favorite versus. But in this verse it talks about how we need to build our foundation, and the promises and blessings we will recieve if our foundation is strong in Jesus Christ. If you think of a building or any form of any type of structure, without a strong foundation, under pressure it will collapse or crumble. The same is with us. We have to have our foundation (testimomy) built on something that will support us no matter what. In this world we may think that we are building our foundation strong if we have money or status or a good job or even family and friends. We may think this is making us grow stronger or be better. We may sometimes rely or depend on these things, but if those things were to be taken away (because eventually they will) We will collapse and crumble because that foundation is weak and changing. Jesus christ is unchanging. He is the same today tomorrow and yesterday. If we plant root in him, our tree will grow rich and bring forth good fruit. I know that Satan is strong and powerful. But God and his son Jesus christ are so much more powerful. We have the ability to beat Satan and overcome anything through Jesus chrsit. That's wonderful. I know all things are possible through him. I wouldn't be out here if I didn't belive that. I leave this with you in his name amen.

Love you all and have a Good week!
