His Kingdom Come

Welcome back!

Man I can't get you guys to leave! Thanks for reaching out and reading my emails. It's nice to know I'm not just typing my thumbs off for no reason. This week was awesome! Easter on the mission is really something special. I feel like the focus of the savior is very strong on Easter on the mission. We always celebrated Easter back home, but I don't really remember feeling and fully understanding the significance of what it really meant. It was emotional to read Matthew 27 in the new testament, and just really ponder and think about what he did for us and what he had to endure. I am so grateful for his atonement and sacrifice. We can come back to this topic, but this week was really good for me. There was an emergency transfer that happened in my district. They had to close an elders area and kick those elders out. I ended up in a trio. I now have 2 companions and the new one has been out for a little over six weeks, so now I'm a trainer! He is my saving grace in this companionship. He is incredible at teaching and talking and we get along super well already. This week we also got some friends to church and taught some new people. Our area has been doing so well, even the mission president came to our branch to meet all the new people we have been teaching. The lord is blessing us exceedingly.

In case you have been wondering, we have been meeting with Bradie, Jazmin, and Naomi regularly. They are still interested in being baptized, and they have been loving learning the lessons and meeting with us. Naomi said that her sister and mom want to be baptized as well, so we will be teaching them soon. We're still hoping that Val reaches back out to us because she also wants to be baptized. There's a lot of really good people here and I absolutely love this area so so much. I definitely have grown the most in this area I would say. We have gotten incredibly close to the branch members and we feel so much at home. They have been very helpful with meeting with our friends as well. Today we had a lady named Keyslea come to church. The whole branch just swarmed her and even gave her a ride to and from church. We taught and gave her a blessing after church and she was just beaming with joy. It was so awesome to see and she expressed that she has never felt more loved and welcomed in a church ever. We really enjoyed teaching her. She is going to Lubbock for a month so we might have to let some other missionaries teach her, but it made me so happy to see her get so much support.

My Easter was really good! We had dinner at our branch presidents like we do every Sunday. They had family there as well, and it was just a party. We played games with them and they gave us money and treats and we had really good discussions about the atonement and Jesus Christ, and it was a good time. I have really come to love the atonement. A word that means so much. All of us are here today because of Jesus Christ. All of us can live and have Joy, because he paid the price of our our sins and paid the debt for us. In times where I feel lost or abandoned, or like God isn't listening to me, I remember the atonement. The greatest acts of love. Firstly God, our Heavenly father, loved us so much that he allowed his son to come into this corrupt world, and be judged of it. I can't imagine how hard that must've been. Then Jesus Christ, knowing that he was going to be brutally killed and betrayed, did so willingly, because he loved us so much. We have heros that serve in the military, and give their life for us and the people in our country. They die for us so we can have a better future, but Jesus Christ was the only person that ever lived for us. He came down to earth and lived to teach us the way back to our father, and lived to perform the atonement, dying on the cross for all of us in the world. How special.

Well that's all I got to say about my week. It was overall a really good week. I hope it was for you aswell! Until we talk again!
