We Are His Hands

Howdy!

Hey sorry I forgot to mention that today is our pday instead of Monday because we have transfers tomorrow, so I'm writing today. A lot happened the past few weeks and it's taken a toll on me but we're growing. Last week we traveled to so many different little towns in our area and just walked around and tried to find people in the scorching hot heat, it wasn't ver enjoyable but it was rewarding regardless. We gave talks on fathers day and I hope all of you had an amazing Father's day. This week I also have been reflecting back a lot and looking at how I can improve myself and my spirituality and just everything in all aspects. I came to a cross road or a realization that I can either take the mission more serious and put my head down and just grind it out and become better, or I can continue to work hard but be a goof off and not really give it my all. I've decided to start giving it my all and try to be more obedient and a better example because I'm only a missionary for so long, I can go back to being JJ and goof off and be crazy after my dedicated time. That's not to say that I wasn't trying before but I have more of a desire to see what I'm made of and what God can turn me into as I try my best to follow his spirit and guidelines!

This week was insane. We moved to a new apartment and I'm so incredibly grateful for it. My spirits were uplifted by 10x just from seeing it, but living in it is a different story. This is by far the nicest apartment I've seen in my mission. It's funny to go from notoriously the worst to now one of the best. Although I'm sad to see the shack go, and sad that we can no longer sleep on top of a trailer and look up at the stars, this was well needed and I think it's going to help me in this area a lot. I'm going to count my victories wherever I can get them, and this to me was a massive victory. We also have transfers this week. I found put yesterday that I'm going to be getting a new companion, Elder Greene. I reached out to him and he seems pretty cool so that will be fun. I feel that it's going to be a fresh start for me because this last transfer was probably the hardest one in my mission by far. Now I get a new comp, a new apartment, new people to teach, and a stronger desire to change and be better.

I don't really have much else to say because this week wasn't the most productive due to moving and transfers and a pday in the middle of the week, but I wasted to say thank you for everyone who wished me a happy birthday or who sent me things as well. I was never really one to like my birthdays and I was a little worried to have one on the mission but yall made it feel so special. Big 20! I appreciate all of you!
