Blessings

Howdy yall!

Sorry I fell asleep last night without writing my email so this one's a little late. This week's been pretty eventful so buckle up! We had exchanges with the ZLs on Tuesday and it was fun because I got to be with elder Dunn again, a comp I had in my 3rd transfer in the mission. It was nice to catch up on old times and talk about the area we served in together and how much we've seen each other grow. It was like we picked things up right where we left them, so it's been fun to serve around that kid again. On Thursday we had zone conference and this one was really good. The way it was structured I was a fan of, and it didn't feel like we were being drilled with information. It was about finding people and basically just strengthening the basics which I really enjoyed because if you simplify your teachings and break it down, you're a better teacher. Lots of people over complicate the gospel when we should really just make it simple because it is. After zone conference we went on exchanges with the APs. This was really fun cuz we were trying to find ways to put elder Regen out of his comfort zone and troll him. We made him knock doors on people we knew weren't interested, and had him call people more than just once. It was really good and we had such a fun time.

The spirit has been very loud recently, or maybe I'm just more in tune when I'm actually out there in the trenches doing the work. Lately I've been letting it guide where to eat. That sounds hilarious but hear me out. I'm not sure if I mentioned about the spirit telling us to go to cotton patch, but we felt prompted to eat there, and we found a guy who's been trying to get into contact with the missionaries for a couple of years now. It was really cool. He came and talked to me while I was peeing which was pretty awkward and hilarious. He went to shake my hand and I was like, no way. He was super friendly and kept trying to ask for my number so I told him I'd give it to him when I was done. Pretty funny. But after zone conference, we went to Texas roadhouse and we met a lady there that was just glowing when we walked in. She kept staring at me (I'm used to it) and asking if she knew me from somewhere. I told her that we knew each other in heaven, and she asked for our contact information. It was pretty cool! So now I don't eat out unless the spirit tells me to. Also I had a good friend challenge me to do something and I want to include you guys into it as well. Its called the 75 holy challenge, kind of like the famous 75 hard challenge, but spiritual. I believe it's tomorrow that marks 75 days until Christmas so it would be a good day to start this challenge. For 75 days, everyday, you journal a whole page, do 1 act of service or kindness, share a spiritual thought to someone online or in person, reflect on miracles that you've seen that day, and have intentional morning and night prayers. The point is to do these everyday for 75 days so they become a habit and not a challenge anymore. If you miss one of those things listed above, you start the count over. Give it a shot!

Everything else has been going pretty good here in abilene! I've been loving it so much and have just felt so much joy. My companion and I have just been having good times and laughing at everything. There's this lady in our ward who's a little out there. Bless her heart. She's just a little off. We were teaching her at her house and she just was saying some crazy things. My companion was trying his hardest not to laugh, and when someone else laughs its hard for me to control myself. I was biting my tongue and inside of my mouth as hard as I could but I just couldn't hold it back. We ended up loosing control after she showed us a picture of her backside. She was burned on her butt and just decided to show us a picture out of nowhere and it caught us so off guard. Don't worry it's not as bad as it sounds, but it was definitely the craziest member lesson experience I've had, and for west Texas that's saying something. But I can assure everyone who's reading that I'm doing well here and I'm back! I love yall

Yall take care and have a blessed day!
