Busy Busy Busy

Howdy!

Man this week just flew by. I've been so incredibly busy and it's been the greatest thing ever. The hardest part about Alpine was there was way too much downtime and thats when thoughts and temptations come in. Here in Abilene I'm so busy I have no time to really think about myself which is good for the most part. We've taught so many people it would take up the whole email to list them and talk about them all. We focused heavily on getting our friends to watch general conference and also to search the scriptures. I lost count, but I think we gave out at least 2 book of Mormons this week, and were able to testify of its truthfulness. Abilene is known to have the most churches per capita in all of America (I'm pretty sure, someone fact check that) or at least thats what everyone here says, so it's hard to get people on board with the book of Mormon. There's lots of people who respect what we do for knocking doors and preaching the word, but don't like the idea of more scripture at all. Matter of fact we got invited to a Church Of Christ service on Wednesday because a lady we are teaching is trying to convert us to the Bible and Bible only. We are planning on attending that service, but her argument wasn't convincing enough to give up what I was doing, but who knows maybe she's got a point!

General conference was the spiritual lift that I needed and the messages were very inspiring. We were blessed to be able to watch it with some awesome members and also the missionaries here in the city. What I got out of conference is that if you're reading this and you haven't already, serve a mission! ;) Nah, but I learned the importance of a deeper conversion to christ and how keeping covenant promises strengthens us to overcome the world and it's temptations, especially as it gets increasingly more evil. I also always welcome and accept the messages of less judgment and more love for those around us. I'm a pretty firm believer in that one. It's hard to see people that we missionaries baptize leave the church because of "veteran" member culture and mentality of "this is how its always been" and they feel judged, criticized, or unwelcome. This is the church of God, not our church of our judgments and opinions. But I really enjoyed this conference, I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts on it!

Well I'm doing good out here in the ol Bible belt. Can't complain. I hope yall had a great weekend and that you and your family are blessed. God loves you. Take care!
