Walter Whites Territory

What's up gang?

Okay, I'm impressed. Blown away even. I'm gonna keep it real with you guys, when I heard I was going to Hobbs I had my expectations pretty low, and I was sad to hear I'd be separated from the cities again, but boy did I get humbled. This area is really good and I'm really liking it already. I've been extremely busy these past 3 days and it's been so refreshing. My district here is awesome, and my companion is literally the same person as my little brother. The apartment we live in has been pretty neglected so we've been deep cleaning it, and apparently it's the notorious haunted hobbs apartments that I've heard many stories about, so that's exciting. (I'm actually excited about that cuz I get more ghost stories) but I'm really liking this area a lot, and the lord actually confirmed to me that this is where I need to be. I felt so at peace from an experince we had just after church...

So during church we got a text from a red dot (a person who's not supposed to be contacted for various reasons) saying that she wants to meet with us because she has some questions about the temple. She was recently baptized only a few years ago, gone through the temple, and left the church and became super hostile and anti towards it. We invited a recently returned missionary who's very close with this lady to come with us to see if we could have a more controlled environment. When we got there she immediately started asking me if I remember her, like as soon as we walked in the door. I literally thought she was possessed cuz she was so persistent about it and kept asking. Turns out I gave her a blessing in Odessa when I was in training with Elder Ili. This was back when she was active in the church. She randomly texted us one day in Odessa to give her a blessing and randomly showed up at the church so we could do it. A lady who lives super far away in Hobbs, came and got a blessing from me, then I move to Hobbs, and somehow she felt inspired to text us in church after not talking to the missionaries for a long time, and recognized me the second I walked in. I mean thats not a coincidence at all, that's God. We had a really good discussion, one that I wish I could've recorded or something so I can have that memory, but it was really good, and she even said that she was thinking about joining our church again after the conversation. That was the strongest confirmation to me that I am exactly where I need to be.

We also met a guy named Larry. He just got out of prison and found our passalong card on the floor in his friends trap house. His friend is apart of a gang and doesn't care for our church, but somehow there's a passalong card on his floor that caught Larrys interest. He said that God keeps giving him visions and leading him to all these crazy missions and things, and he doesn't know what God is trying to tell him so he figured he'd  call us and see what we can do for him. He went on explaining that one of these missions was to build a statue out of rocks that God would place in his mind, and he'd know exactly where that rock is and go dig it up. His yard was full of very interesting stones and rocks and all kinds of crazy things, and they all had numbers on them, and he said that there's a code or pattern or something that God keeps telling him. You probably know where I took this lesson. We read ether 3 and talked about the brother of Jared and how God used those stones to light the vessels. I've never used that in a first lesson so it was cool, but we talked a lot about how the spirit talks to us and how God uses our faith to show us his works. He really liked it and he said that we were now his brothers and he would kill for us, and boy do I believe he would kill somebody for us. But I'm hopeful that there's potential there, and once he can recognize the spirit talking to him and what it's actually trying to say, he's going to do good things.

New Mexico is one of the places of all time. It feels like there's no laws here at all. People have their quirks, and weed is very legal. In fact our downstairs neighbor smokes religiously, and especially at night to take that edge off. It's safe to say I've been having some of my own wacky visions, cuz I've been having some crazy dreams since I've moved here, let me tell ya. We saw a guy just blow through 2 sets of red lights on the way to church. I mean he didn't even flinch! I just don't know how to describe it, but New Mexico just feels like I'm living inside a simulation, or video game, or one massive prank, it's weird.

Thank yall for tuning in. I hope yall stay safe, and stress free with the holidays coming up. I love yall!
