A Great Week

Image
Hey yall!       Sorry for the late response, I've been busy these past few days and didn't get a chance to write out an email. This week was really good and we met with some new people as well! Today we went to a Christian banquet for one of our friends we do service for, and it was this big event about pro life and how we can bring more souls to christ. It was a really cool event and I enjoyed my time there. We also ate really good food this week and you know how I love my food! But overall this week was pretty chill but still productive.       The people we have been teaching are still progressing thankfully. Jazmins date got pushed back from today, to the 6th of May. We got her to start reading the scriptures and understanding the importance of baptism and following the commandments. Bradie is still doing good and is a member at this point, even though he hasn't been baptized and confirmed yet. But he's still good to get dunked on June first. N...

I Love My Calling

Another week!        I hope everyone enjoyed their week and had a good time. I don't know about where you're from but I thought I'd rub it in a little, this week's weather has been perfect! Nothing else puts me in a good mood like good weather does. Being able to drive around with the windows down and feel the breeze is always a good feeling. Anyways, I enjoyed this week. Me and the new guy in our trio are becoming very close and thats been helping my mental distress a lot. My district has also been getting closer with each other and they seem to be doing very well, their work is popping off too! We had a lunch with bradie and some non members on Saturday and it's been nice to see him grow. He's basically a member at this point, just not baptized and confirmed. Jazmin is doing good too but we might be pushing her baptismal date for a little later because she's not really reading her scriptures and praying and she expressed that she doesn't feel like she...

His Kingdom Come

Welcome back!         Man I can't get you guys to leave! Thanks for reaching out and reading my emails. It's nice to know I'm not just typing my thumbs off for no reason. This week was awesome! Easter on the mission is really something special. I feel like the focus of the savior is very strong on Easter on the mission. We always celebrated Easter back home, but I don't really remember feeling and fully understanding the significance of what it really meant. It was emotional to read Matthew 27 in the new testament, and just really ponder and think about what he did for us and what he had to endure. I am so grateful for his atonement and sacrifice. We can come back to this topic, but this week was really good for me. There was an emergency transfer that happened in my district. They had to close an elders area and kick those elders out. I ended up in a trio. I now have 2 companions and the new one has been out for a little over six weeks, so now I'm a traine...

Mental Warfare

Image
Hey friends,       As I'm laying here in my bed writing this email before I rest my eyes, I can't help but to keep reflecting back on general conference and my spiritual journey since being set apart as a servent of the lord. I have been spiritually and physically overwhelmed this weekend. It doesn't feel real to me that I have been on my mission for almost eight months already, and it's amazing to go back to memories of just even a few short months ago and see the person I was then and the person I am becoming now. I wish I could say these eight months were the easiest in my life, but to keep it real, they have been quite literally the opposite. While they have been brutally hard, they have been the most rewarding by far. No where else on earth would I experience such incredible things and be given this opportunity to learn and grow so much. This is why its been a mental warfare. A constant battle of feeling inadequate to tackle challenges at hand, a battle of chang...

Redemption

Whats popping yall?       I fell asleep early last night because I wasn't feeling too good so I didn't write my email, sorry this one's a little late but I haven't missed a week so I can't miss this week. Anyways this week was a lot better than last week. Not much has really changed but I have just been in a really good mood and more motivated, despite the stress and everything else that has been going on. The power of fasting and praying is real! I've been able to push through and come out on top. I worked so hard I think I got a little burnt out and sick so I had to go to sleep, but I woke up feeling better this morning. We finally started seeing the fruits of our labors in plainview! It's known as a slower area but I think it's been slow because missionaries have a bad attitude about it and don't work as hard. We have 3 people on baptismal date in our area now (2 people were put on date this week!) And were teaching a lot of people now. My distric...

What path does God want you to take? One thing that I love so much is riding dirtbikes or any type of off road machine. Often times while riding alone or with friends and family, a path or trail that I am riding on will split off into so many different directions. Sometimes you have to be quick to choose a path without much thought. This path can either lead you to a fun new place that you haven't discovered before, or a place where you can easily become lost and have to find other paths to get you out of trouble. This made me think about the paths that we take in life. We come across so many decisions that we have to make, and sometimes on the spot. These different choices that we make, can take us in many directions and sometimes we can become stuck or lost. Well when this happens, how do we get out? One of the best ways we can find direction in this life is by listening to our savior Jesus Christ. In the scripture Alma 37: 37 it tells us a little bit about how we can recieve his...

Hook, Line, And Sinker

What it do?       Hey howdy and Hola. Still tryna change my intros lol. But this week has been, well I'll put it this way, a week. This week flew by at Mach 3 looking back but during the week it felt like I was saddling a slug. We weren't really having a whole lot of lessons or any success in our area at the start of this week, and if I'm not busy and my mind occupated, I get depressed so that was a little rough. Regardless of the big sad, and sluggish week, we started picking up speed and traction and ended with a bang. All God willing. I've seen myself really grow and change while being on my mission, and one way I know that I've changed is I have more motivation. I've never been one to quit at anything or give up really, but I noticed that my perspective and outlook has changed and it's easier for me to motivate myself and work harder if I'm down or things aren't working out. Instead of running from a problem, or tying to find an "easier...
